S.C. DRUPO NEAMŢ S.A. was established in 1968, as the"County Unit of Construction, modernization and repairs of roads and bridges". In 1969 it was called "The County Directorate of Roads and Bridges" and in 1991 it received the name "The Autonomous Administration of Roads and Bridges" becoming S.C. DRUPO NEAMŢ S.A. In 1998, now representing the main constructor of the local road network in the County of Neamţ. The company's main fields of activity are: the construction of roads and bridges; maintenance and repairs of roads and bridges; the preparation of sorted and crushed aggregates and the preparation of asphaltmixtures; sorting, washing, crushing of pit ballast aggregates. Moreover, S.C DRUPO NEAMŢ S.A. elaborates technical documents relating to the quality management system and it offers consultancy for the creation and implementation of the Q.M.S. Throughout the years, the company's staff has proven its professional abilities by providing quality works, a fact also certified by: the County Inspectorate of Constructions, the Professional Association of Roads and
Bridges in Romania, through the Technical Certificate. The company has 150 employees, being famous on the Romanian market. The company emphasises the need to constantly increase the level of theoretical and practical training of its employees. The road network in the County of Neamt comprises 168 roads, from among which 44 county roads with a total length of 758.6 km and 124 communal roads totalizing 644.4 km. From among the county roads, 36.2 km have bituminous covers, 394.1 km have light bituminous covers, 2.43 km are covered with cement concrete, 3.7 km are paved, 311.9 km are covered with cubic stone and 10.1 km represent earth roads.
